The fashion scene in New York, Los Angeles, and worldwide is growing on me as I promote Boarding and I work on my next novel, Arrival. At the heart of a good story is a strong character who wants something badly.

My first story about fashion designer Jessie Carter took place in Chicago during a layover at O'Hare Airport. The story is titled Layover.

I began pondering what happened prior to her landing in Chicago. She had been in New York on a fashion shoot and what happened there? The question led me to develop my novel and lay the ground work for further installments.

Boarding doesn't focus on the glamor of the fashion industry in New York. Instead the novel focuses on Jessie Carter, the young fashion designer and her chance to put a dress together in one day.

Her boyfriend finally visits her at her hotel near Central Park and accompanies her to a pub near Times Square. After Jessie and Raymond go back to the hotel and Raymond has words about the model that aren't kind.

D.D. Symms's descriptions are so well done I feel as if I'm right in the room with them. 

And then--heaven help me!--the utterly adorable Callan, Torrey's assistant, makes his entrance. Oh yes! This man could have a story all to himself and I'd gobble it up. 

By this point I'm totally hooked. 

The author takes us into the fast paced, sensual world of high fashion. A world Jessie is very much at home in. As Jessie begins to make a name for herself as a top designer, we're also taken on her sizzling journey as she explores the sexual side of her nature with the men and women she meets.

Throw in some mild but super sexy BDMS play (We get to see a lot of Callan! Swoon) and a jealous boyfriend and you have one hot, totally satisfying read .

The characters of Boarding

The characters of Boarding are now uploaded and you can read about each one who brings the story to life.

I enjoy them and I think they have a lot to offer. Each one works from different motives and I'd like to explore Jessie and her boyfriend. He has Jessie's best interest at heart but it's from his viewpoint.

Doesn't that happen often in life? We think we know what's best for someone else. Sigh. 

You'll find out if Jessie can resolve this part of her relationship with Raymond.
